Chris Myers, Republican candidate for the Toledo Board of Education, announced a five-point plan to improve the budgeting process last Friday. Myers is making his second run for the board of education. He was part of the Urban Coalition Three for Change during the 2005 election.
Myers five-point plan includes: creating methods for community to provide money-saving ideas, establish and publicize the budget calendar early enough in the year so there are opportunities for analysis, establish budget performance benchmarks, establish goals and a strategic plan for the district and set the budget accordingly and create an incentive program to reward employees for money-saving ideas.
