"Students attending Toledo Public Schools will enjoy better futures and the district as a whole will move dramatically in the right direction with the election of ... Chris Myers to the board of education."
"Mr. Myers proposes using incentives to reward employees who have budget-cutting ideas and to engage the public in saving money using Internet communication. He also supports merit pay for outstanding teachers, an idea opposed by the teachers union that believes salary should be based solely on longevity, not the ability to teach.
Mr. Myers also has pointed out what everyone at TPS knew but didn’t want to talk about – that the district for several years has been in violation of the No Child Left Behind Act by failing to make dramatic changes at such education disasters as Pickett and Fulton schools."
